Our Privacy Commitment

At Plainly Software, your privacy is fundamental to how we operate. We believe in radical transparency about data collection and we are deeply committed to not collecting any data we don't absolutely need.

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with anyone. Period.

What We Collect

Our philosophy is simple: we only collect data that is necessary to provide our services.

General Site Visitors

  • No tracking pixels or analytics cookies: We don't use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking service.
  • No user behavior data: We don't monitor what you do, how long you stay, or what features you use.
  • No personal information collection: Browsing our site requires no signup or personal details.

Account Users

If you create an account with us, we collect only:

  • Email address: Used for account sign-in and to send important notifications like password resets, security alerts, and service updates.
  • Optional display name: To personalize your account experience.

We do not collect phone numbers, addresses, payment information (beyond what's necessary for subscription processing), or any other personal data.

Authentication Options

We support multiple authentication methods:

  • Email/password: Sign up with your email and a password you control.
  • OIDC (Single Sign-On): We support authentication via Google, Facebook, and other OIDC providers. When you authenticate through these services, we only receive your email address from them—nothing more.

Server Logs

Like any web server, our hosting provider may generate standard access logs that include:

  • IP address
  • Timestamp of request
  • Requested resource
  • Browser/device information

These logs are used only for legitimate server administration and security purposes and are not used for any other purpose.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or any analytics purposes. Our site will function perfectly fine with all cookies disabled.

Third-Party Services

We keep third-party services to an absolute minimum and are transparent about those we use:

Always Used

  • Tailwind CSS: Loaded from CDN for styling (read-only, no data collection)
  • Google Fonts: Loaded from CDN for typography (read-only, no tracking)

For Account Users

  • OIDC Providers (Google, Facebook, etc.): If you choose to sign in with these providers, they handle your authentication. We only receive your email address to create your account. We do not share any of your data with these providers.
  • Stripe: If you choose to subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information. We do not store your credit card details—Stripe handles this securely. We only store the information necessary to manage your subscription (Stripe customer ID and subscription status). See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on their practices.

Neither of these services have access to any data beyond what's necessary for their specific function.

Your Rights

If you have an account with us, you have the right to:

  • Access your data: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete your account: You can request deletion of your account and associated data. This will be processed promptly.
  • Correct your data: You can update your email address or display name at any time.
